Mistakes While Organizing Webinars

Mistakes While Organizing Webinars

Having run webinars for the past 5 years, I have seen both the good and bad ways of conducting webinars.

Webinar, to me, is the opportunity to create additional trust points and help a potential customer move forward in the sales funnel.

Here are 5 general mistakes I see most marketing leaders make while organising webinars –

→ Generic webinar titles. Some examples – Digital Transformation, Sales Made Easy, Why Marketing is important?, etc.

→ Inviting non-credible guests.

→ Verbose descriptions of the webinar.

→ Not leveraging the existing network of Partners, Vendors, Customers, and Friends to participate or be a guest in the webinar.

→ Monotonous, linear and generic webinar outline and flow.

And they say “Webinars too don’t work !! “

Here are some strategies that I have implemented and seen results –

1 Build a community around webinar activities and keep them warm with content and other continuous activities.

2. Leveraging people from your own network to be the additional guests and spread word to their networks and networks of networks.

3. Give at least 3 weeks for promotions of your webinar so that the target audience can be reached multiple times.

4. Create a high-end webinar experience with a lot of desired topics, credible speakers, value creation elements in promotions and post webinar.

5. Talk to engaged audiences separately and plan the next webinars with their help.

Have you tried webinars? Did it work for you?
